Mastering Engineer

 

Carlos Freitas is considered one of the top mastering engineers in the world.  Having worked in the industry since 1994, Carlos and has been at the forefront of the developments in technology that have taken place in mastering  over the past three decades and also Dolby Atmos development.

Carlos is a Nine-time Latin Grammy nominee in the Best Engineering category, and has been the mastering engineer in thirty three Grammy award winning records, with more than one hundred nominations.  The albums include artists such as Sylvestre Dandong, Andes Cepedas, João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Céu, Lenine, Djavan, Luciana Souza, Chico Pinheiro, Ivete Sangalo, Ed Motta, and Omara Portuondo, among many others.

Carlos Freitas has mastered several soundtracks, including The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, Love in the Time of Cholera, City of God, and The Perfect Stranger.  He was also responsible for the TV audio for the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Rio, in 2016.

Carlos has always supported the independent music community and believes that advancements in technology can have a very positive effect on the arts, leading to a more vibrant music industry.

Natalia Bohórquez Herrera, graduated in music and phonographic production at Anhembi Morumbi University (Sao Paulo, Brazil), and as a DJ and Producer at DNA Music School (Bogotá, Colombia), complemented her studies in the area of Mastering at the Berklee School of Music.

In her career she has worked as an editing and mastering assistant in projects by national and international artists, such as Carlinhos Brown, Ivete Sangalo, Djavan, Paralamas do Sucesso, Barbatuques, Arnaldo Antunes, Jota-Quest, Lenine, Angela Cervantes , Alerta Kamarada, Sweet Barrio, Inés Gaviria, Marbelle, Surcos, El Vega Life, among others.

Currently based in the city of Bogotá, she continues to work as a mastering assistant at Classic Master USA and is an official representative for Classic Master in all Latin American countries.
